Hello gearhead, this is Greg Stanley and welcome to Auto Sausage where we grind together automotive awesomeness. Today we are going to deep dive into the five cars coming up for sale at the Mecum Denver Auction coming up in July that are in the Auto Auction Guessing Game. The window for guessing the correct bid is open now and it closes on 7/11 and the auction dates are 7/12 and 7/13. Thank you to all of you who have already entered.
What will you win? A ton of dog treats from Cosmo’s Snack Shack AND Tillamook Beef Jerky AND Black Magic Tire Protectant with UV Guard, AND Black Magic Bleche-Wite Tire Cleaner AND Black Magic Intense Wheel & Tire Cleaner AND Gumout Multi-System Tune-Up. I’d like to take a moment to thank Black Magic for being a sponsor of Auto Sausage. Retail value for these items is around $220 so be sure to enter your best guesses! As a reminder, one of our future really cool prizes is $200 worth of Star Wars autographs during the Monterey Car Week Auction Guessing Game! You can check out all future auctions at Autosausage.com.
A quick reminder on how does the Guessing Game works. I pick five cool cars from an upcoming auction. You enter what you think they will sell for on the Auto Auction tab at www.AutoSausage.com. You will have to enter your email address but I will not spam you! If a car doesn’t sell, I will use the highest bid that is realized and published by the auction house. Whoever has the lowest total difference from the total price for all five cars wins!
And congratulations to JimK for winning the Guessing Game #6 which was the Mecum Portland Auction! He won some cool prizes including a stainless steel tumbler, work gloves and a Uranium high powered flashlight. The top five finishers are shown on the website and JimK and the total bid price for all cars was $381,108 and JimK came within $18,408. My trend of picking cars that do not sell is continuing and only two of our five cars actual sold. My accuracy did increase a few tens of a percent. My accuracy across all cars whether they sold or not went up to 85.9% and my accuracy on just sold cars hit 97.8%. As a quick review…
1967 TOYOTA FJ-40 LAND CRUISER (LOT F85) did not sell!
2004 DODGE RAM SRT-10 PICKUP (Lot F139) did not sell!
1980 INTERNATIONAL SCOUT II (LOT F159) sold low
1973 FORD BRONCO (LOT F200) was pulled from the auction!
1969 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 429 FASTBACK (LOT S120) sold as expected.
Now it is time to review our five cars for the Mecum Denver Auction Guessing Game #7!
How much will the 1998 CHEVROLET CORVETTE PACE CAR EDITION (Lot F83) sell for?
How much will the 1967 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK LOT (Lot S100) sell for?
How much will the 1989 FERRARI 328 GTS (Lot S133) sell for?
Thanks for joining us again this week! I’ll talk to you again next week!
