A Big Announcement: Broad Arrow Auctions Joins Me as Presenting Sponsor
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: Broad Arrow Auctions is joining me as the presenting sponsor of both The Collector Car Podcast and The Enthusiast’s Guide book series.
This partnership means a great deal to me—not simply because of the Broad Arrow name, but because of what it will allow me to do next.
For years, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to incredible automotive events, meet fascinating collectors, see remarkable cars and, most importantly, hear the stories behind them. I’ve become convinced that the cars are only part of what makes this hobby so special. It’s the people, the places and the stories that bring the collector car world to life.
With Broad Arrow’s support, I’ll now be able to pursue that role as an automotive storyteller full time, bringing you even more coverage from concours events, auctions, collections, museums, road trips and other corners of the automotive world.
That means more time on the road. More conversations with owners. More incredible cars. More behind-the-scenes access. And hopefully, a lot more stories you wouldn’t otherwise get to hear.
I’ll also continue to work with Broad Arrow as a consulting Car Specialist, supporting my existing clients and select new clients when the right opportunities arise. But increasingly, my focus will be on getting out there and finding the cars, people and stories that make this hobby so fascinating.
Broad Arrow and I share a passion for celebrating great cars and the people who make this community what it is, which makes this partnership feel like a natural fit.
I’m incredibly grateful to the team at Broad Arrow for believing in what I’m building and helping make this next chapter possible. And I’m equally grateful to all of you who read the newsletter, listen to the podcast, watch the videos and support the books. You’re the reason I get to tell these stories in the first place.

And It Starts Monday in Monterey
There couldn’t be a better place to kick off this next chapter than Monterey Car Week.
Beginning Monday, I’ll be sharing daily “Postcards from Monterey” video shorts, taking you along with me as I explore the auctions, concours, races, gatherings, incredible cars and colorful personalities that make Monterey one of the greatest automotive weeks of the year.
So keep an eye on my social channels and follow along. Consider these Postcards your daily peek behind the curtain at Monterey Car Week.

A Free Book for the Next Generation
And to kick off this partnership, I want to do something for the next generation of car enthusiasts.
While supplies last, I’ll be giving away free copies of The Enthusiast’s Guide to Collector Cars to young automotive enthusiasts who aren’t old enough to get their driver’s license.
If you’re at Monterey Car Week, come find me! I’ll be spending time at the Broad Arrow Auction, MOTORLUX, Concours for a Cause, judging Ferraris at Concorso Italiano, and, of course, on the field at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
No purchase. No complicated contest. If you see me during Monterey Car Week with a young enthusiast who qualifies, come say hello and ask me for a book.
There is just one book per household, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
One of the reasons I wrote The Enthusiast’s Guide was to help inspire the next generation to discover this incredible hobby. If putting a book into the hands of a young enthusiast helps spark a lifelong fascination with cars, then I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this new chapter. Get it? Chapter?:)
There is a lot more coming—and I can’t wait to bring you along for the ride.

Another Exciting Announcement: Joining the Cincinnati Concours Board
I’m also honored to share that I have joined the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Concours d’Elegance.
This one is particularly meaningful to me because my involvement with the Cincinnati Concours goes back more than a decade. I started simply as an enthusiast attending the event and, over the years, have had the opportunity to volunteer, judge, support various activities and become increasingly involved with the organization.
Along the way, I’ve watched the Concours continue to grow while maintaining what makes it so special: incredible cars, passionate enthusiasts and a wonderful group of volunteers who dedicate countless hours to making the weekend happen.
After more than ten years of attending and volunteering, it’s an honor to now have the opportunity to serve the organization in a new way as a member of its Board of Directors.
I’m looking forward to helping build on the Concours’ tremendous history, introduce even more people to this great event and, most importantly, help ensure that the passion for great cars continues to be passed along to the next generation.
I’m excited to see where we take it next.

Apparently, fire is good.
YouTube recently put a flame next to my latest results, and after consulting with people younger than me, I’m told this means things are going pretty well!
The channel continues to grow, and I couldn’t be more appreciative of everyone who watches, subscribes, comments and shares.
So yes, I’ll take the fire. 🔥
Now I just have to figure out what the next emoji means.

A Great Review from Victory Lane
I’m honored to have The Enthusiast’s Guide to Collector Cars reviewed by Victory Lane, a publication that has long celebrated vintage racing, historic cars and the people who keep our automotive heritage alive.
I especially appreciated their description of the book as “helpful, entertaining, and very well presented” for serious, casual and would-be collectors alike. That is exactly the audience I hoped to reach when I wrote it.
A sincere thank you to the team at Victory Lane for the thoughtful review!

“Every new or even experienced active or would-be car collector or enthusiast will enjoy and benefit from reading this book. It is both informative and entertaining about collecting but also full of knowledge about many eras and types of cars. It opens with Part 1 Foundations What Is a Collector Car. Part II Eras of Collecting starts with extensive coverage for Era 1890s-1915. The book continues then for 13 Eras. There is fascinating info on each from each Era which includes the details, why the cars matter, key collectibles and much special info.
Specific cars are also examined. All very well and extensively presented.
Auction Indices are in every chapter.
Part IV is The Collectors Tool Kit with resources, club directories, some stories and a look ahead for the collector.
This is a helpful, entertaining, and very well presented book for all serious, casual or would-be car collectors.”

A Different Kind of Autograph…Yours
I have one unusual goal for Monterey Car Week this year.
Instead of signing other people’s books, I’m asking them to sign mine.
Over the past year, dozens of contributors, sponsors, photographers, industry experts and friends have helped make The Enthusiast’s Guide to Collector Cars possible. I’d love to fill my personal copy with their signatures as a reminder that this book was truly a community effort.
In fact, I recently had my two nephews give me their very first autographs ever. They may not realize it yet, but I have a feeling those signatures will become some of the most meaningful in the entire book.
And that invitation extends beyond the contributors.
If you’ve supported the book by purchasing a copy, reading the newsletter, listening to the podcast or simply encouraging me along the way, I’d be honored to have you sign it, too.
So if you see me during Monterey Car Week, don’t be surprised if, instead of reaching for a pen to autograph your book, I’m handing you mine.
I have a feeling it’s going to become one of my most treasured possessions—a book that tells not only the story of collector cars, but also the story of the amazing community that made it possible.

The Next Car Should Find Me
Just last week, the Mustang found its new home, and for the first time in a long time, I’m not actively hunting for the next collector car.
Instead, I’m going to let the next one find me.
I’ve spent years chasing the next interesting car, but this time I’d rather wait for one with a great story—something that’s been loved by the same owner for decades, has traveled an interesting road, or simply deserves its next chapter.
Lately, I’ve found myself drawn to German cars. Maybe it’s a 1970s or 1980s Porsche 911 SC, a well-kept BMW E36 or E39, or perhaps an elegant early-1970s Mercedes-Benz. Who knows? The right car may be something I haven’t even considered yet. What matters most isn’t the badge or the horsepower.
It’s the story.
So, if you know of a special car that deserves to be driven, appreciated and have its story shared, reply to this email. I’d love to hear about it. After all, the best collector cars rarely begin with an online search.
They usually begin with a conversation.

There’s a lot happening right now—new partnerships, new responsibilities, a growing audience and another Monterey Car Week about to begin.
But through all of it, the goal remains pretty simple: find great cars, meet interesting people and share the stories that make this hobby special.
Thanks for continuing to come along for the ride. Something tells me the next few miles are going to be pretty interesting.
See you on the road and stay driven!
